When running an immunological assay (e.g., ELISA, ELISPOT, Western Blot), it is critical to generate a signal to detect the reaction. Both colorimetric (color-producing) and chemiluminescent (light-emitting) substrates are available from SurModics. Colorimetric Substrates

Colorimetric substrate reagents (chromogens) react in immunoenzymatic reactions to produce a measurable, colored end-product. BioFX colorimetric substrates for both HRP and AP detection offer several levels of sensitivity and speed of kinetics. Unsurpassed in stability, sensitivity, and consistency, BioFX colorimetric substrates are available in one-component, two-component, and powder formulations.

Chemiluminescent Substrates

Chemiluminescence provides greater sensitivity than any other available detection method for both membrane and microwell applications. BioFX HRP and AP chemiluminescent substrates are characterized by varying lengths of light emission and intensity, allowing you to choose the sensitivity level best suited to your particular assay requirements.
