Proteins in solution are more susceptible to temperature fluctuations, contamination with oxidative and microbial agents, as well as physical shearing and shaking. As a general rule, proteins in solution are more stable when stored in high concentrations at low temperatures.
SurModics StabilZyme conjugate stabilizers protect the entire conjugate by preventing the loss of catalytic activity while maintaining the conformation of the antibody or protein antigen portion of the conjugate. These stabilizers, used as diluents, allow for the storage of conjugated proteins at lower use concentrations.
